Arghhhhh! Razorback Records always keeps the death/grind/thrash/horror thing alive! The classic sounds of Impetigo, Autopsy, Mortician, Dr. Shrinker, and others lives on from the late 80s! FESTERED puke forth "Flesh Perversion" like a zombie ravenous and hunting for flesh. They are the best Razorback band yet! The intro starts the festivities off and after the screaming and murder, we get "Inferno Of Bloody Revenge". Nice thrashing death metal. Also old school as fuck. After the fast banging part, the middle headbanger is classic and evil, kicks in with double bass by the mighty Elekrtokutioner( who seems to play drums and all the good horror death bands!). Then goes fast and ripping again, back and forth with the evilness! FUCK YEAH! Another screaming intro and "Debasement Ritual" has the mid paced head ripper that gets all skanky and mid tempo banging like we all know and love. It then goes into a creepy doomy fucker of a riff, then back to the mid paced madness. Vocalist Ghoat sounds like a fucking zombie on here. Total throat from hell. "Inhuman Devastation" is next with it's mid paced one/two beat sounding like a gore drenched Asphyx, that then blasts off. The title track starts off with an awesome double bass riff that sounds like a Massacre out take from the early 80s. The killer fast one/two beat comes in and makes you want to kill your boss with a shovel. Now you have to bury the fucker. The middle break riff is quite a headbanger as well, expect me up front when I see ya guys live! Killer ending riff as well! "Festering Embodiment" pukes next with it's killer slow olden death metal riff from hell. Reaper writes some killer death riffs on here! And this corpse also has some killer solos that spew forth. These guys are a great kill team! This song goes back and forth between a very fast thrash/black beat to a great one/two ripper. The older Death part ala "Scream Bloody Gore"/ "Leprosy" is awesome as well, and then gets fast, one/two again! AWESOME! "Ascend From Death" is next with it's one/two fast intro into the mid paced banger that turns skank beat. Very FROST-ish song. "Undead Infection" is next with it's death/thrash start that has the great one/two death beat into a slower part. "Cruciflesh" ends this classic album with it's great evil/melodic intro riff/notes. It goes from the thrashy fast parts to slower parts with the great evil guitar melodies. There are a few killer old school horror movie samples placed throughout like the first 2 songs. There is a hidden track at the end if you dare to listen to it. Festered are killer with their gore covered, horrific debut album of thrashing death metal. Thank you to my friend Reaper for sending this out! The great cover art by the legendary Drew Elliot rules as does the inside art by rising legend Nev (who did our Werkshed Logo!). The production is perfect for what Festered vomits forth here. And the playing is great, with killer, catchy songs of death! Anyone into old school death metal, this is ESSENTIAL!
