Little did I know that I was in for a surprise when these guys came around. They have been around since 2006. Holy Cannibalism is a 2 piece that has 2 brothers playing the death noise. They have branched out and started playing gigs all over the Southland recently. This release comes in an old school tape format. That's right, TAPE. Total underground! haha. But let's get to the music. Total Grindcore that has a huge barbaric black metal influence and some old school death metal thrown in. So you have a big Repulsion, Terrorizer, Impetigo, old Napalm Death influence, mixed with Blasphemy and Revenge. Interesting for sure! Killer in the end! Old school as fuck! The recording is of a rehearsal variety. But the power and energy can be felt. And in my opinion, it is perfect for the vibe of the songs. I can hear some of my friends now "THIS RECORDING IS SO BAD! WHY DO YOU LIKE IT?" And I would say "SHUT THE FUCK UP FAGS! GO LISTEN TO THE NEW SLAYER!" What you get with this release is 8 songs of pure crazy ass grind/black/death. "Embalmed Alive", "Gutted With A Plastic Spork", "Infected With Verucouse", "Noise Grinding Assault", "Nuclear Doom", "Razor Blade Masturbation", "Richard The Goatworshiper" and "Smell The Charred Corpses". This reminds me of the good old days when sometimes the best demos were the ones that were recorded in a rehearsal room with a 4 track, MAX, sometimes a boom box/ghetto blaster! hahahaha , AWESOME. Holy Cannibalism has TONS of potential as well so they will be a force to be reckoned with here and all over in 2010 if they keep this up! This is close to being sold out, but contact the tape label The Reapers Grave to see if there any left. Also hit the band up for shirts and info on new recordings. This is ESSENTIAL if you are an underground maniac!
