Ahh, the old school fanzines! What a great memory. Writing letters to these fellow metal freaks from ALL over the world! Sometimes so far, it would take a couple months to get your fanzine back. Yes kids, A COUPLE OF MONTHS! And if you were lucky, the maniacs who did these great zines would even include a tape compilation with the killer bands who were featured in the issue! This was how us underground fuckers would discover new bands and how everything you listen to these days came about! A lot of the time there were trades made. If someone from Poland was looking for a Sadistic Intent demo, or Terrorizer or Nausea live tape, I would send those off in trade for copy of the zine. Killer times indeed. Well Mystical Music Mag reminds me of those days. Ralf Huber does a killer job with his interviews and reviews. The bands featured with interviews in issue #14 are : Asphyx, At The Gates, Entombed, Massive Assault, Impiety, Funebrarum, Desultory, Avulsed, Seance, Purgatory, Hatespawn, Lifeless, Bloody Sign, Morbid Flesh, Denial, Axis Powers, Puteraeon, Lay Down Rotten, and the mighty Tribulation. There are ads from killer labels to find out releases, as well as a great reviews section with tons of stuff to track down. There were more reviews that didn't fit the layout, so Ralf placed those reviews on the CDR that comes with the zine. The layout is very easy to read and Ralf knows his shit, so the questions/interviews aren't boring and are interesting. Everything about this zine reeks of old school death metal! From the front cover to the back cover! ONLY DEATH IS REAL! Now about the CDR. One of the true treasures is the fucking compilation disc that comes with this monster mag! On there, you get songs by : Avulsed, Axis Powers, Bloody Sign, Bone Gnawer, Dead, Dead Congregation, Decapitated Christ, Eroded, Infinitum Obscure, Lifeless, Morbid Flesh, Morbus Chron, Nomad, Puteraeon, Stench Of Decay, Temple Below, Tormented, Tribulation, and Unconsecrated. WHEW! Fuck, you will want to kill after listening to this comp.! It has some of the BEST up and coming olden style death metal bands in the world! And the issue also comes with posters of Dismember and Necrophobic! ARGHHHHHHHHHH! FUCKING INSANE! What a mag! And the cool thing is it is printed, so you can read it while on the toilet taking a crap, which all us men love to get our shit out while we read right?!?!?! bahahaha.
