Way To End - Desecrated Internal Journey Review

What the hell is this?
My first thoughts concerning the debut album "Desecrated Internal Journey" from Way To End are all, but not positive!
The release flyer warned me of "dissonant spells" and i could not agree more!

But after several listening sessions I started to like this album...
Aside the (sometimes too much) disharmonic riffing I hear song structures spanning from Blut Aus Nord, Watain and Dissection.
Opening with an Intro that sounds like the score of an bad artmovie "A Step Into The Void" takes us after a few coils into another place of chaotic yet structured black metal.
Opening with a Watain-like riff and feel "The Worm" as heartpiece of this journey takes a dive deep into the diabolical and cold/dark spheres!
With its follow up "Unconscious Evocation of a Neverending Search" we hear again a more experimental track combining short acoustic and neofolk elements as well as clean vocals and choirs.
With "The Sore of Creation" the band drifts away with disharmonical riffs even more then before.
The core of the song structure is quite fine but its hard to keep focussed because the dissonant riffing is distracting and sometimes even annoying...
But the Outro "No Dreams" soothes the ears again with acoustic guitars and traditional-styled metal riffings.

So after all:
If you are into the so-called avantgarde scene and like to listen to records like Blut Aus Nord's "MoRT" as well as the releases of Watain and Dissection, this is another promising release for you...

7/10
