Killer mid to late 80s style death metal. It all starts off with "Beyond The Darkness". Fucking great old school song. This one is mostly a fast banger. The intro riff reminds me of Master/Deathstrike. "The Gates Of Hell" is next. Nice thrashy Destruction type riff and some old Death thrown in. There are 2 types of vocals so far, the main voice is more in the mid range scream type and then there is a killer deep growl that backs it up on parts. "Screamatorium" starts of with the double bass into an almost Possessed/Devastation(Chicago) type fast part. "Mentally Mutilated" has the slower vibe at the begining with it's killer riff to start. Gets faster and has a killer mid paced heavy part. There are some older Death parts and even a bit of blast beats thrown in as well. "Welcome To The Morgue" has the death march type of start, that then kicks into double bass. Overall, this song is more slower to mid paced. "The Act Of An Unsound Mind" starts off fast and out of control before slowing down to a mid paced banger. Then back to fast. Killer! It gets nice and slow at the end. "Dead But Walking" goes from mid to fast grinding, almost Repulsion like with the fast. The song gets mid paced/slower at the end. "Trapped Between Worlds" starts off with an awesome, almost old school Napalm Death riff that goes into a good fast part."Visions of Death" starts out with the creepy old Death high notes/slower part that goes into the fast part. Very old school and well done. "They Hear Your Heart Beating" also has a good creepy/slow start, more like a funeral march this time. After some mid paced banging, it gets fast at the end. "Possessed Dead" also starts off slow and creepy, hahaha, but 3 songs in a row like this is not bad at all! They sound different from each other. The fast skank beat kicks in and has a great Impetigo vibe. This is my favorite song on the album. "Eternally Entombed" end this album. The intro part sounds out of tune and almost like it was recorded in a different session, but when the fast part kicks in it gets good. Very Massacre type stuff going on. The song titles remind me of Autopsy and Impetigo. Nice, Good, Gory, Disgusting Fun! And the production is dry and straight forward, like a live session, which does fit the old school vibe, nothing fancy or ground breaking! haha. If you dig old Death/Mantas, Massacre, Master type ancient death metal, this is for you! Very simple and straight to the point. They have a vibe like some of the more obscure death metal bands that came out back in 1988 and then fell off the face of the earth. Some of the parts do drag on a bit, like the more Death "Leprosy" influenced parts. The production is not heavy enough to get away with those types of parts like that classic. But over all a good album! This is out on Hell's Headbangers so check it out and get in contact with them about other releases and merch they have out!
